Parcel Number Audit

Parcel numbering usually follows a scheme. This tool checks whether the data actually obeys it — finding the gaps in a sequence, the values that break the format, and the inconsistencies between layers.

• Input Features accepts multiple layers, so a whole commune's worth of parcel layers can be audited against the same numbering scheme in one run.
• Choose Field to check is the parcel number field. The audit is only as meaningful as this choice — pointing it at a working field rather than the official number produces a report about nothing.
• Check Generate Report? and set Output Report (.txt) to keep the findings as a file. Left unchecked, the results appear only in the tool messages and are lost when the dialog closes. For a documented audit, always request the report.
• This tool reports on patterns and gaps. To find outright duplicate numbers, use Duplicate Finder, which also selects and highlights them on the map.

1. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Geoprocessing group, open the Cadastral Tools gallery and click Parcel Number Audit.
2. In Input Features, select every parcel layer to be audited.
3. Set Choose Field to check to the official parcel number field.
4. Check Generate Report? and set Output Report (.txt).
5. Click Run, then open the report and work through the gaps and inconsistencies it lists.

Requires an active KGA Toolbox license. The tool validates the license before running.
