Add Raster To Map

  • Input Raster is browsed to rather than picked from the map, so a raster need not already be in the project.
  • Processing Mode determines whether the raster is added as-is or cropped on the way in.
  • The Extent / Boundary Settings section offers several ways to define the crop: Reset returns the extent to its default and Refresh re-reads it.
ControlDefines the crop from
XMin / YMin / XMax / YMaxTyped coordinates
Use Map ViewThe current map extent
Use Raster ExtentThe raster's own full extent
Use drawn boundary from previewA boundary drawn in the preview pane
Use selected polygons onlyThe polygons currently selected in the map
  • Two options refine a polygon-based crop:
    • Dissolve boundary before crop merges the boundary polygons into one before cropping, which avoids a ragged result where several polygons abut.
    • Maintain clipping extent from boundary keeps the output extent tied to the boundary rather than snapping out to the raster grid.
  • Use input raster NoData value carries the source raster's NoData value into the output, so transparent areas stay transparent rather than becoming black or zero.
  • Output Settings control where and how the result is written — Project geodatabase, Same as source, or Custom — together with an Output name and a Format.
  • Three options govern what happens on a repeat run:
    • Overwrite if output already exists replaces an existing output file.
    • Replace existing layer in map with same name swaps the layer in the map rather than adding a duplicate.
    • Also add original raster to map adds the uncropped source alongside the result, for comparison.
  • Display NoData as transparent sets the layer's display so NoData areas show through. This is a display property, not a change to the data.
  • The Preview pane, with its 100% and 1:1 controls, shows the raster and any boundary before processing. Use it — cropping the wrong extent from a large raster is slow to discover and slow to undo.

Parameters for Add Raster To Map
ផ្ទាំងគ្រប់គ្រងការពិពណ៌នា
Input Raster

The raster file to add. Browsed to rather than picked from the map.

Processing Mode

Whether the raster is added as-is or cropped.

XMin / YMin / XMax / YMax

The crop extent, as typed coordinates.

Use Map View

Sets the extent from the current map view.

Use Raster Extent

Sets the extent from the raster's own extent.

Reset / Refresh

Resets the extent to default; re-reads the current extent.

Use drawn boundary from preview

Crops to a boundary drawn in the preview pane.

Use selected polygons only

Crops to the polygons currently selected in the map.

Dissolve boundary before crop

Merges the boundary polygons into one before cropping.

Maintain clipping extent from boundary

Keeps the output extent tied to the boundary rather than the raster grid.

Use input raster NoData value

Carries the source NoData value into the output.

Project geodatabase / Same as source / Custom

The output location.

Output name

The name of the output raster.

Format

The output raster format.

Overwrite if output already exists

Replaces an existing output file.

Replace existing layer in map with same name

Swaps the layer in the map instead of adding a duplicate.

Also add original raster to map

Adds the uncropped source alongside the result.

Display NoData as transparent

Sets the layer display so NoData areas are transparent.

Preview

Shows the raster and boundary before processing.

របៀបប្រើ

  1. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Data Creation group, open the Quick Template menu and click Add Raster To Map.
  2. Browse to the raster in Input Raster.
  3. Set Processing Mode according to whether the raster needs cropping.
  4. To crop to a boundary, select the boundary polygons in the map and check Use selected polygons only, then check Dissolve boundary before crop.
  5. To crop to an extent instead, click Use Map View, or type the coordinates.
  6. Check Use input raster NoData value and Display NoData as transparent so the edges stay clean.
  7. Check the Preview pane and confirm the boundary is where you expect.
  8. Set the output location, Output name, and Format.
  9. Check Replace existing layer in map with same name if you are re-running.
  10. Run the tool.
