This tool has no parameters. It acts on the layer selected in the Contents pane, and on the current feature selection.

These graphics are temporary. They are map overlays, not labels. They are not saved with the project and they disappear as soon as the layer selection changes, the active map view changes, or the active tool changes. For labelling that persists and prints, use Show Area, which creates a real label class.

ការប្រើប្រាស់

  • Clicking the button draws the overlay immediately. There is no dialog.
  • Exactly one polygon layer must be selected in the Contents pane. If nothing suitable is selected the button is disabled, and clicking it with the wrong selection reports "Select a polygon feature layer."
  • The layer must use a projected coordinate system. A layer in a geographic coordinate system is rejected with the message "Layer must be in a projected coordinate system" — areas in square degrees would be meaningless. Project the layer first, or use Show Area, whose geodesic fallback handles unprojected layers.
  • The current feature selection is honoured. If features are selected in the map, only those get the overlay; with nothing selected, every feature in the layer is drawn. Select a handful of features first when working on a dense layer, or the display becomes unreadable.
  • Overlays clear automatically when you change layer selection, switch map view, or pick a different tool. Run the tool again to redraw them.

  1. In the Contents pane, select the single polygon layer you want to inspect.
  2. Optionally select a few features in the map, to limit the overlay to those.
  3. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Data Management group, open the Quick Label menu and click Display Area.
  4. Read the values on the map. They clear when you change selection, map, or tool.
